To effectively strengthen the company's fire safety management, promote fire safety knowledge, and further enhance employees' awareness of fire safety, on the afternoon of July 22, 2017, the company’s safety officer, together with the Manufacturing Department Manager, conducted a fire safety training session for MinTe family members.
During the training, participants were thoroughly briefed on key topics such as identifying and eliminating safety hazards, properly reporting fires, effectively tackling initial-stage fires, and mastering safe evacuation techniques. The session featured impactful presentations, including recent major fire incidents from across China, accompanied by harrowing on-site footage. These visuals not only heightened employees' awareness of fire safety and their sense of responsibility but also deepened their emotional understanding of the devastating consequences of fires.
Meanwhile, the Manufacturing Manager provided a detailed explanation of the company’s dry powder fire extinguishers, highlighting three critical aspects: First, these extinguishers work by spraying a fine powder that blankets the burning material, creating an isolating barrier that cuts off oxygen supply and suppresses the flames. Second, when exposed to heat, the powder decomposes, releasing non-combustible gases that further reduce oxygen levels in the combustion zone, effectively extinguishing the fire.
1. Application Scope: Dry powder fire extinguishers combine the advantages of foam, carbon dioxide, and carbon tetrachloride extinguishers, making them ideal for tackling initial fires involving oils, flammable gases, electrical equipment, and materials that ignite upon contact with water.
2. Check the fire extinguisher
(1) Check and verify the fire extinguisher maintenance card to ensure the extinguisher model matches the one on the card, and confirm that the extinguisher is within its valid usage period.
(2) Check if the fire extinguisher pressure is within the acceptable range (ensure the needle is not below the green zone). Verify the fire extinguisher pressure.
(3) Check if the nozzle is clear and free of aging.
(4) Check the fire extinguisher cylinder for rust or damage.
3. Use a fire extinguisher
(1) Analyze the fire situation, determine the nature of the combustion, and select the appropriate fire extinguisher.
(2) If there is an electrical supply in the fire area, the power should be cut off first.
(3) Hold the fire extinguisher handle firmly with your hand, facing upwind, and smoothly yet swiftly carry it toward the fire.
(4) About 5 meters away from the burning object, pull out the safety pin. Press down firmly on the activation lever with one hand, while holding the nozzle of the spray horn with the other. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire and sweep it back and forth horizontally as you advance. When spraying, follow a technique that moves from near to far and from outside to inside to effectively extinguish the flames.
This fire safety training has further strengthened employees' awareness of the critical principle that "potential hazards are more dangerous than open flames, prevention is better than disaster relief, and responsibility outweighs even Mount Tai," both in their workplace and daily lives. The company urges employees to remain constantly vigilant, prioritize prevention, integrate prevention with firefighting efforts, and ensure proactive risk management—ultimately creating a safe and secure fire safety environment that supports the company's commitment to safe production.
